[Interdisciplinary Studies]

  Advising Center

Early and consistent advising is critical if a student is to complete this major successfully in four years. We urge students who have questions about courses and program requirements to contact the Interdisciplinary Studies Liberal Arts Advising Center at McKee 227. Faculty advisors are available to help students complete their educational goals in a timely manner.

Individual Advising

Students who want individual advising can make appointments by coming to McKee 227 or by calling the office at 970-351-2929.

Group Advising

All majors except for transfer students are required to sign up for a group advising session during the pre-registration period each fall and spring. See the Announcements page of this Web site after October 1 and February 1 for the dates of these sessions.

Transfer Student Advising

Transfer students must make individual advising appointments to map out their plans for completing the IDLA major.

Entering Freshmen Advising

Entering freshmen students are strongly urged to attend one of the Orientation sessions offered each summer and to join the Class Act learning community. For information about Orientation, phone 970-351-1391.

Four Year Plans

Each student must develop a Four-Year Plan during her or his first semester in residence at UNC. Instructions about how to complete the plan are provided at individual and group advising sessions.

The IDLA Listserv

All students should subscribe to the IDLA Majors Listserv to receive important information.
