The Liberal Arts emphasis in the Interdisciplinary Studies major provides the broad academic background that is essential for a student who wants to become an elementary teacher. It includes a balanced course of study in mathematics, science, language arts, and history/social science. Students also are required to select an area of concentration for in-depth study in one of eighteen programs. For further information regarding requirements for licensure, be sure to visit the Web page maintained by the College of Education’s School of Teacher Education program.
