MORE
Honors students played an active role in Fall 2008 in leading the Center for Honors, Scholars and Leadership in new and expanded directions. The HSL Strategic Planning committee met regularly and included input from students across the HSL segments. Everyone feels the new currents at UNC and are enthusiastic about the planned changes to come which wil strenghten the ties between the Honors Community and experiential education and between "Honors" and "Community" with expanded community engagement roles.
Beyond the business of being active players in the process of change, the students of HSL also found themselves once again living the idea of community. The stories on the "Decker Hall Family" and "Decker Hall Activities" show the clear link between the social aspect of community and the academic "honorable" side of HSL. The creative aspects of the students visible in their artistic endeavors, and their willingness to dive into the capstone Thesis work continue to amaze and inspire many of the faculty and staff that surround them. And last but not least, HSL continues to encourage students to explore the life-changing path of a study abroad experience. Take some time to read through all of these stories, which are listed on the left.
