Passages

We would also like to give mention to the passing of two beloved members of the HSL community.

John Bromley

Director of the President’s Leadership Program, teacher for both the School of Theatre Arts and Dance and the Life of the Mind Program, advisor and friend, Professor Bromley passed away in March after a lengthy illness.  He is greatly missed and will always be remembered. His many contributions to HSL and the campus, in general, are felt everywhere.

Vincent “Vinnie” Scalia

In his many years at UNC, Dr. Scalia served as the Dean of the College of Health and Human Sciences, the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, and a faculty member much loved by UNC students. In 2005, he memorably presented to students during an Honors Pizza Seminar in which Tinker toys were used to help students understand communication dynamics.

Both of these beloved members of the extended HSL community will be deeply missed.
