The cycle of life was profoundly felt by Honors students this past semester as our dear friend, mentor, and leader John Bromley moved on in this world, passing from life. But everywhere we turned this semester, there was new life to be seen. Honors students making great achievements, new programs, passion and energy pouring from students, faculty and staff alike. Dr. Mike Kimball added his enthusiasm to the mix, first as Schulze chair visiting professor, then as the newly appointed Director of the Center for Honors, Scholars and Leadership. Everyone that has met and experienced Mike's passion for learning that goes far beyond the classroom knows that the Honors Program has a vibrant future.

Stories in this semester's edition of the Honors Report include the introduction to Dr. Mike Kimball, as well as farewells to John Bromley and Marie Livingston, who recently retired as Honors director. We have highlighted the events and activities held throughout the semester as well as including a feature on one Honors student's thesis work and two alumni stories. The International Film Series, coordinated through the Honors Program, is also featured in this edition reviewing the past year's films. Additionally, each one of the Honors Program Officers wrote a short synthesis of their activity this past year. To include the creative side of students, the Honors Report staff created a new section featuring several poetic and artistic works by Honors students.

Over the coming year, current Honors students and alumni should consider submissions for the Honors Report. Creative, academic and personal updates are all welcome!

Thank you Jen Koops and Kayla Czmowski, Editors of the Spring 2008 Honors Report!
