Alpha Kappa Delta

Purpose: Dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of academic excellence, achievement in sociology, and promotion of an interest in sociology, research in social problems, and activities leading to human welfare. Undergraduates must be Junior or senior sociology majors with a 3.2 GPA or above.

Beta Alpha Psi

Purpose: Honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field.  Membership in Beta Alpha Psi includes those persons of good moral character who have achieved scholastic and/or professional excellence in the fields of accounting, finance, or information systems.

Beta Gamma Sigma

Purpose: To encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence and to advance the values of the Society

Eta Sigma Gamma

Purpose: To promote the discipline by elevating the standards, ideals, competence, and ethics of professionally prepared men and women in Health Education.  Need to participate in events related to education, research, and service and maintain a 2.7 GPA.

Gamma Theta Upsilon

Purpose: Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU) is an international honor society in geography. GTU is open to students who have completed a minimum of 3 geography courses, have a GPA of at least 3.3 overall and in geography courses, and have completed at least 3 semesters college course work.

Golden Key International Honor Society

Purpose: At Golden Key, we share your vision for life; a chance to shape the world and a commitment to excellence. We offer a sense of fellowship within the Society’s three pillars – Academics, Leadership and Service – and are dedicated to achievement – personally, professionally and altruistically. We share your values and offer a continuum of possibilities – opportunities – opportunities to unlock your potential.

Mortar Board National Honor Society

Purpose: A National Honor Society for college seniors with a GPA above a 3.2 based around the ideals of scholarship, leadership, and service.

National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH)

Purpose: The National Residence Hall Honorary is for the top 1% of leaders living in the residence halls.  Members seek to uphold the four pillars of the organization: scholastics, recognition, leadership, and service.  Members are also able to walk with cords at graduation.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS)

Purpose: Members are deeply committed to service, integrity and scholarship and, as a result, are impacting their campus and local communities every day.  First and second year undergraduate students who have earned at least a 3.4 or higher GPA are invited to apply to NSCS.

Omicron Delta Epsilon

Purpose: The international honor society for students in economics. Candidates for membership in ODE must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of economics courses, have earned at least a “B” average in the economics courses and have an overall scholastic average of a “B” or better.

Phi Alpha Theta

Purpose: Phi Alpha Theta is a national honorary society you may join if you have 12 hours of history credit with a GPA of 3.1 and a 3.0 overall GPA.  We work in conjunction with UNC’s History Club to put on a variety of activities including interdisciplinary discussion nights, guest speakers, workshops, and other fun events.

President’s Leadership Program (PLP)

Purpose: If you’re the type of person who seeks life-changing experiences and wants to inspire other’s lives too, then checkout UNC’s President’s Leadership Program.  PLP is a four-year program that helps students explore their values, expand their skill set of leadership tools, and prepare them for leadership positions beyond college. Current Freshmen may apply – deadline is March 1 to start coursework in Fall.

Psi Chi

Purpose: We are an International Honor Society in Psychology with the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology.

Sigma Delta Pi

Purpose: We’re a professional fraternity organized to foster the study of business in universities; to encourage scholarship, social activity and the association of students for their mutual advancement by research and practice.

Sigma Tau Delta

Purpose: We are an International English Honor Society.  The Society is open to English Major/Minor juniors and seniors who have a 3.25 or higher GPA and who have met certain other academic requirements.

Student Senate

Purpose: Student Senate represents and serves the student body in order to enhance the university experience through the empowerment of all students.

University Honors Program

Purpose: The University Honors Program provides outstanding students with enriched course and research experiences, extra faculty attention, a community of intellectually challenging peers and recognition at commencement for accepting the challenge.  Current UNC students with a cumulative GPA 3.25 or above who have a desire to dive deeper into their academic work and challenge themselves with original thinking are invited to apply.

Zeta Omicron

Local chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society – Zeta Omicron.
