Training

Overview

The University of Northern Colorado offers a variety of training opportunities to assist its staff and faculty in furthering their professional and personal development.

Employee Tuition Grants

Permanent employees paid through Human Resources are eligible to enroll without tuition charges, on a space available basis, to take courses at UNC, CSU, or Aims Community College. Tuition paid is based on in-state tuition amounts. Out-of-state tuition charges are the responsibility of the employee. Alloted credit hours are based on the number of FTE the employee is assigned. This benefit does not apply to Outreach or Online classes. Forms are located on the HRS website. For more information, contact Sue Stone at 351-2718.

Skill Soft On-line Learning

As an investment in training for our staff, the University has made available to all employees a very fine Skill Soft on-line training program with over 600 courses available at no charge. Because these are on-line classes, internet access is required.

Contact Tabandeh Harraf for a username and password when you are ready to get started at Tabby.Harraf@unco.edu or (970) 351-1935. For further details on Skill Soft click here

Employee Training Classes

Human Resource Services is working on creating a variety of classes geared to the needs of the employees at UNC and also offers a certificate program for those employees who complete a program of study, including required Skill Soft classes. Supervisors should complete the Supervisory Training certificate program within six months of hire or promotion. The Human Resource Services staff can also conduct training at your location for any department that would like to train a group of managers at one time.
