First-Year Student Live-On Requirement

First-year students who are under the age of 20 are required to live on-campus and carry either a full 19-meal or 200-meal plan. Only students who live within 20 miles of campus with a parent or legal guardian, are married, or who are transferring to the University of Northern Colorado with more than 20 semester credit hours are exempt from this policy.

Regardless of your student status, we’re pleased to be able to offer you multiple choices of housing options. Students who are under 20 years of age and have earned fewer than 20 semester credit hours have a wide variety of residence halls to choose from. There are traditional double rooms as well as suite-style living. There’s something for everyone.

Students who are 20+ years of age or who have earned at least 20 semester credit hours may choose to live in a standard residence hall, Lawrenson Hall (which is an apartment-style residence hall), University Apartments or a University Owned House.

We look forward to seeing you in the Fall!
