Resident Assistant

My name is Bonnie Nilsen and I serve as an RA for one of the Elementary Education floors in Turner Hall.  I have lived in Turner for one year and plan to continue building an academically enriched atmosphere.  Learning communities are a great opportunity to grow and experience college life with other students who have similar goals.  Developing a strong support system, I plan to lead students in a positive and comforting environment.  An elementary floor is a wonderful opportunity to build strong friendships and have easy access to essential resources for your major.  Directly working with the other Elementary Education floor, there will be many opportunities to get involved on the floor, in the residence hall, and in the community through different programs and events.  I will organize many opportunities helpful for your career including four year planning meetings, study groups, and other useful activities.  Other social events will allow students to reach out to other students outside of the Elementary Education community.

Hall Director:

Hi, I'm the Hall Director for Turner Hall and would like to share a little information about the Living and Learning opportunities in Turner Hall.  Whether you are a student living in Turner currently, or a prospective student considering living in Turner Hall, there are many great opportunities here.  While I truly believe living in a residence hall provides living and learning opportunities for every student, Turner is home to two special communities: Elementary Education and a Quiet Living floor.  Both of these communities provide students with a focused experience in the residence hall, with the Elementary Education community focusing on preparing students for a career in elementary education and the Quiet Living floor providing a more focused academic experience within a quiet community based on respect and a mutual commitment to academic success.  Both communities provide students with opportunities to extend academic learning beyond the classroom, and aim to provide residents with the skills to become lifelong learners.  I sincerely hope that you will continue browsing this website, and learn more about the exciting programs put on by hall staff!  Being in a learning community can be a very rewarding experience, both academically and socially, and I urge you to make the most of this exciting opportunity.
