Pathways Residential Learning Community
So you’re not sure what you want to major in? Don’t know what you want to do with “the rest of your life”? If this is the case, this community is just for you!
First, most students come to college without a major. Even those students that have a major usually change it 3-4 times before they graduate! That’s why the Department of Housing & Residence Life has partnered with the Office of Academic Support and Advising to offer the Pathways Community, where students have ample opportunities to explore different majors and careers, as well as have fun figuring it all out!
In the Pathways Community you will learn about different majors and careers, hang out with friends, and have programs focused on what it takes to be a successful college student. Pathways is located in Harrison Hall, the same building as the Academic Resource Center, where you will find tutors and a place to study either in a small group or quietly by yourself, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!
This floor is for freshmen and students with less than 30 credits who are interested in having assistance exploring different majors and careers. This floor is staffed by a Resident Assistant who is also a Peer Academic Advisor in the Office of Academic Support and Advising. Opportunities for students living on this floor will include:
- Opportunity to take a special half-semester career exploration class
- Assistance with study skills and transition to UNC
- Tutoring, study groups and drop-in academic advising
- Access to the Academic Resource Center
- Having a Peer Academic Advisor live on your floor
If you are interested in being a part of this successful, fun-loving, and growing community, please contact us at (970) 351-2721 or housing@unco.edu.
