The Elementary Education Community is open to all ISET/INDS (Elementary Education) majors. As a member of this community, you will have the opportunity to volunteer at local schools and meet with the Coordinators of the Elementary Education program. Maybe you want to write children’s books and donate them to a children’s hospital, or maybe you want to tutor in an after school program—you can do all of this and more! This program has grown over the past few years and is now one of the largest communities on campus.
This community is especially for students planning to major in Interdisciplinary Studies, Elementary Teaching. A Resident Assistant who is also an Elementary Education major will be assigned to this community to provide mentoring and connection to the College of Education. Students residing on this floor will have the opportunity to:
- Volunteer to tutor at local schools
- Participate in retreats, cultural events, and other fun outings
- Take classes together
- Talk with practicing teachers
- Informally get to know some of the faculty within their majors
- Study with other students in their classes
- Mentor incoming first year students
If this sounds like the place for you, sign up quickly. This is one of the most popular communities on campus, and we don’t want you to miss out! If you have questions about how to get into the Elementary Education Community, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call (970) 351-2721. We look forward to seeing you in the fall!
