Find A Room
Hey, Group 1 students are you ready to Find A Room?
On Friday, May 1st at 3:00 p.m., Group 1 students will be able to login into the Housing & Residential Education webpage and assign themselves to a room. Please view and print the instructions for how to assign yourself to a room.
**If you selected a residential learning community on your housing contract, you may already be assigned into a room. If you do not wish to live in the residential learning community, you can move yourself to another space.**
The “priority basis” groups are listed below (each group will be highlighted when it is their turn to login):
|Group #||Receipt of Housing Deposit||Find A Room Login Date/Time|
Dec. 1, 2014 - February 15, 2015
Website goes "live" Friday, May 1, 2015 @ 3:00 pm
February 15, 2015 - May 31, 2015
Website goes "live" Monday, May 4, 2015 @ 3:00 pm
You may find that some of the halls you wish to live in have been filled already with upperclassmen. If you cannot assign yourself into one of your first or second choices, you can do a couple things:
- We receive housing cancellations daily. As cancellations are received, the room is placed back in circulation. So check back regularly on the Housing website to see if a spot has opened up in a hall that you want to live in for the 2015-2016 academic year.
- You can move rooms as many times as you want until May 31st. If you are in a residential learning community (RLC) and you move yourself out of the space, you will not be able to move yourself back into it. All RLC assignments are done by the Housing & Residential Education office.
- Wait until August 20th when the residence halls open and speak with the Hall Director of the hall you wish to live in and ask to get on the waiting list for their building. If someone is a "no show" when the halls open, the Hall Director will look to their waiting list to fill the space. The waiting lists for the halls will not be started until the halls open Thursday, August 20th.
The Department of Housing & Residential Education will communicate with you through your UNC e-mail address so please check it often. You are responsible for the information the University sends to this account. Check your UNC e-mail (Bear Mail) account regularly for updates.
