Hsian-Wang Liu |
Hsian-Wang Liu is a native of Taiwan. After completing his undergraduate education there, he came to the United States for his Ph.D. degree, which he earned in 1997 at Penn State. Since then, Dr. Liu has taught in China, Taiwan, and the United States. His research centers on the issues of East Asian military and diplomatic history. He is presently working on a book, War Along the Southeast Chinese Coast, 1949-1960s about the struggle between China and Taiwan over Quemoy and U.S. involvement in that conflict. Although a student of history, Dr. Liu believes in the importance of the present and has dedicated himself to making it better.

- HIST 331: Modern Japan
