university archThe University of Northern Colorado’s beautiful 84-hectare (250-acre), heavily treed campus includes carefully restored buildings dating back to just after the school’s founding in 1889 as well as modern classroom buildings and residence halls. Outstanding academic programs and student support services are complemented by a vibrant campus life that includes numerous social, recreational, cultural and educational special events and activities.

The university is located in Greeley, a growing city of nearly 100,000 nestled between the snow-capped Rocky Mountains and the sprawling high plains of Colorado. Greeley is approximately 80km (50 miles) north of Denver and the same distance east of the mountains, which provide spectacular views from many places on campus. The elevation is 1,422m (4,664 feet).

Greeley enjoys approximately 300 days of sunshine annually. In January the average high temperature is 4°C (40° F) and the average low temperature is -9°C (16°F).  In July the average high and low temperatures are 32°C (89°F) and 15°C (59°F), respectively. The area receives approximately 89 cm (35in) of snowfall annually, and the annual average precipitation (liquid equivalent) is about 38 cm (15in).

In the heart of one of the fastest-growing counties in Colorado, Greeley provides you access to an abundance of housing choices, job opportunities and cultural, recreational and entertainment amenities. Greeley also has an efficient public bus system that is free for university students.
