FAQ for Current Students
I have several questions regarding graduate fellowships/assistantships.

When do academic sessions/classes begin?
- These dates are listed on the university's academic calendar.
Will I receive a catalog?
- Catalogs and catalog CDs are available in the Graduate School, Carter Hall Room 2007, or view the catalog online.
What graduate programs do you offer in: Denver, Colorado Springs, Grand Junction, On-Line, etc.?
- A current listing of off-campus programs can be obtained through the Office of Extended Studies. You may contact their office by phone at 1-800-323-1749 or 303-351-2944 or vist the Extended Studies Web site.
Do you have degrees offered through correspondence?
- No, but the Office of Extended Studies does offer Non-Degree courses through correspondence.
What do I need to do to apply for Graduation?
- Please complete a Graduation Application available online at http://www.unco.edu/grad/forms/forms_students.htm for a Master’s degree or a Specialist degree. If you a re a doctoral student, please contact Laura Hulsey at laura.hulsey@unco.edu to inform the Graduate School of your intended date of graduation. A schedule of deadlines for applying for graduation can be found at http://www.unco.edu/grad/general/deadlines.pdf
I won’t be graduating as planned. What should I do?
- Notify the Graduate School office in writing as soon as possible or you may contact Laura Hulsey at laura.hulsey@unco.edu.
I would like to change my major. What should I do?
- If you have been admitted to a graduate program and have begun coursework in that degree program, you must complete a Request of Change of Major .
I was enrolled in the Graduate School at UNC but need to take a leave of absence. What do I need to do if/when I wish to return?
- With support of their program, a student must complete a Graduate Student Petition for Exception to request a leave of absence and inform the Graduate School of their anticipated return date.
