Congratulations Seniors!

It’s that time of year again! As the dorms begin to pack up and students begin studying for Finals, GLBTA wants to take time to recognize all of the hard work and great things our students do all over campus. Graduating from college can make a someone feel pretty nervous, but we are going to put that aside for you! Please join the GLBTA Resource Office for our 4th Annual Lavender Graduation on Sunday, May 4th at 5:00pm to celebrate all the hard work our graduating seniors have done in their time at UNC! This is also a time that GLBTA recognizes all the great things students, staff, and faculty have done for the LGBTQ community at UNC and in Northern Colorado. In these final moments, we plan for tearful goodbyes and the sharing of the many memories that were made at the University of Northern Colorado. Lavender Graduation is a formal event that is meant to be the final farewell from the GLBTA Resource Office, during that time we will be presenting multiple awards and recognizing many individuals across campus. Following the Recognition ceremony there will be a dessert reception, we invite all those in attendance to stay. If you would like to nominate an outstanding individual or to register as an identifying, graduating student please click the link below, THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BEFORE APRIL 26TH! If you have any questions please email our student coordinator at

A farewell message from your GLBTA Resource Office Staff!

On behalf of the entire GLBTA Resource Office team, we want to take a moment to thank all of you for your outstanding support this semester. GLBTA has had an incredible year, full of wonderful accomplishments and exciting firsts. For the first time in years, GLBTA was able to reach a broader range of students across campus, and make them a part of our many different programs. To everyone that has participate in a Safe Zone training this past year, we thank you for you unbelievable support to the GLBTA Resource Office and the LGBTQ community at UNC, you have helped make our campus a better place. Through programs like Safe Zone and the Speakers Panels, GLBTA has connected with students in communities and organizations like Native American Student Services, The Marcus Garvey Cultural Center, and Fraternity & Sorority Life. This semester has been more about the accomplishments of you, the students of UNC, than it has been for us at GLBTA. We have had the wonderful opportunity to reach out and see more students attending events, giving us the wonderful opportunity to get to know some of you on a deeper level. As this GLBTA team reaches the end of our journeys at UNC, we want to say thank you. It’s because of your involvement and support that we have enjoyed doing what we do. Each of us is going to miss this wonderful campus and all the wonderful people here at the University of Northern Colorado. We hope that you have a wonderful and safe summer! Go Bears!

  • Greeley Transgender Support Group
Group Description – The Greeley group meets once each month at 929 15th St on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 6-8. It is a relatively new group gaining momentum among the transgendered community and the City’s Human Relations Commission. During the meetings, presentations from community professionals inform the group of products and services. After each presentation the group discusses various topics of personal concern and interest. During each month, the group decides on participation in one of the following activities: intergroup activity, such as hiking or joining other support meetings, dancing or shopping, or community volunteer activity.
May Meeting – I am excited about our group this month because we will be introduced to laser hair removal. This will balance our previous presentation of electrolysis hair removal and give our members a great information base to make a decision about hair removal. Another exciting presentation for us to share is a transition through the eyes of a transgender male (FTM). As a transgender woman, I am oblivious to the challenges and success of a female transitioning to a man. It is an honor to have our very own Mr. McCarthy describe his experience. As always, it is wonderful to meet new people, and we invite and welcome everyone to attend
