Dates & Times
Both field courses require pre-trip online time and class meetings on the UNC campus:
Online: July 1 to 22.
Class Meetings: Saturday August 2: 9:30 to 5pm Sunday, August 3rd: 9:30 to 5pm Monday August 4th, 2013, 6:00am to 9:00pm.

The field courses then take place on Thursday-Saturday. There are no meetings in between the UNC class meetings and the field course.

Field Trip 1 Colorado River Canoe Trip:
Thursday, August 7th to Saturday August 9th, 2014. Locations: The lecture will be held at the UNC campus in Candelaria. The field trip will begin and end near Grand Junction, Colorado.

Field Trip 2 Gunnison River Canoe Trip:
Thursday, August 14th to Saturday August 16th, 2014. Locations: The lecture will be held at the UNC campus in Candelaria. The field trip will begin and end near Grand Junction, Colorado. 

Fees:
The university charges normal tuition for 3 credits and there is participation fee of $335 for the outfitter, meals, group gear, and guides. There is also a supervision fee of $30. You register for two different courses at UNC: Geography 398 for 3 credits of tuition.

How to Register:
You can enroll directly after April 7, 2014 by logging in to URSA. The course is not in an obvious place, so please use the directions on how to register by clicking on this link. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. James Dunn. Enrollment is done on a rolling basis, but please keep in mind that there is a limit of 20 students on each trip. Once you are enrolled, you will be given a timeline with all of the details.

Dropping the class: You can drop the class up until the normal drop date for Summer Term B.
