Dr. Vowles has a B.A. in Political Science and Mass Media Communications from The University of San Diego. He earned his M.A. in Geography from The Ohio State University and his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Denver. Tim started his career at Victoria University of Wellington in Wellington, New Zealand where he taught for four years. He has also taught at the University of North Florida and Colorado State University. He teaches a variety of classes at UNC including World Geography, Human Geography, and Urban Geography. Dr. Vowles’ research interests focus on air transportation geography where he has published numerous articles focusing on the spatial impacts of low cost carriers and air service patterns across a wide range of scales. When he isn’t spending time doing the Denver-Fort Collins- Greeley commute, Tim enjoys watching his kids play rugby, baseball, and basketball and basking in the glory of the All Blacks World Cup triumph.
