David Caldwell

Dr. David Caldwell holds the Ph.D. in German from The Ohio State University. He was a co-founder of the Minor in Film Studies in 1998 and co-directed the program until 2004. He has frequently taught FL 400: "Traditions in International Cinema." Dr. Caldwell now serves as Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. He is also an advisor to UNC’s International Film Series. Publications and areas of research have focused on German cinema, particularly the films of Wim Wender, urban representations in European and American film, and early cinema.
