Utility Systems & Resource Conservation

The mission of the Utility & Resource Conservation Management unit is to promote the efficient use of all resources available to the Campus while providing a safe and comfortable environment for living, learning, and working. Resources targeted by this program are natural gas, water, and electricity.

Resources and utility systems are critical elements to supporting the campus community. They should be provided such that the campus community can function with minimal interruption and maximum comfort. Utilities are a mandatory expense to the University and therefore must be controlled and reduced as much as possible.

Our primary focus is to comply with the Governors Executive Orders on space temperatures, energy efficient lighting and HVAC equipment, as well as Greening the Government efforts. By doing so this helps reduce the waste of our natural resources and helps us combat the ever rising cost of utilities.

Quite simply, we are going to ask that you use what you need wisely and turn “it” off when you are not using it or are gone. We are committed to doing the same when operating our facilities.

The success of this program is dependant on the amount of support it gets from the Campus community. Please join us and “Commit to Conserve”.

Thank you!

Dave Nalley, Utility Systems and Resource Conservation Manager
