Recycling - Where do I put my Recyclables

Newspaper and Mixed Paper

recyling containers across campus

To the far left is a toter. This container can be found near the trash collection areas for residence halls/facilities for the recycling of newspaper, mixed paper, plastic and glass as labeled. Also, campus offices may request a toter if you have a large quantity of recyclable material you wish to dispose of at once or within a short period of time. For more information, contact the Service Center at 351-2446.

The three bins in the middle can be found all over campus for the recycling of newspaper and mixed paper. The taller barrel and shorter square style bins are usually found in the hallways of buildings and computer labs and are labeled appropriately for the materials to be placed within. The short wastebasket style bins are usually found in offices, computer labs and in some classrooms for paper recycling.

Confidential materials can be destroyed and recycled in specialized locking bins that are available to offices and departments on campus. For more information, contact Service Center at 351-2446

Commingled

The bin furthest to the right in the above picture is primarily used for recycling aluminum cans, plastics, and glass. These bins can be found in virtually every building on campus, primarily in the hallways, and are labeled accordingly. Aluminum cans are recycled in the residence halls as well as the academic and administrative buildings on campus. Plastics and glass are also collected near the trash collection facilities for your Residence Hall in a bin similar to the ones used for collecting newspaper and mixed paper and are labeled appropriately.

Cardboard

Cardboard is recycled at Parsons Hall.  Procedures for pickup and transport will vary by your needs and location. Contact the Service Center for more information at 351-2446.
