The wonderful little coach we've had to tool around in finally burnt through its clutch on the way to
Chawton, site of Jane Austen's home, leaving the party stranded out in the English countryside, lost,
miserable, and lonely....

Or so it seemed. The party went through such horrible trials--such as sunbathing, chess playing, and napping, that it was a relief
when, an hour later, a new coach rescued our intrepid travelers. It was also with great luck that those present on the new coach were Americans from
Maryland--approximately the same age as our heroes--making a pilgrimage to the Jane Austen house (and happened to be all female to which the male pilgrims
let out a hearty cheer and then sulked in the back of the bus for the rest of the journey, too afraid to venture conversation). But then again, I could be
making all this up. >:)

Jane Austen's house, with flowers growing all around.

Roses growing in Jane Austen's garden. They are a very rare being actual Victorian period roses. They only bloom 4 days out of the
year and we were lucky enough to come at the right time.

A normal picture of Kate and Stephen relaxing in Austen's garden (he's normally
not as wacky as his pictures show. In fact, he's mostly like this.)

Sharon in Austen's garden.
