About the Frosty and Cynthia Frease English Scholarship
Tracey Sedinger, firstname.lastname@example.org
Forrest (“Frosty”) Frease was a faculty member in the Department of English at UNC from 1949 to 1980. After his retirement Frosty and his wife Cynthia. established the scholarship to provide support for an outstanding junior English major during his or her senior year. The student must be full-time. Students are chosen according to the academic promise and ability that they demonstrate in their English courses. Though the amount of the scholarship varies, at minimum it is at least $500.
In order to be considered for the scholarship, students must complete the UNC Universal Scholarship Application by March 1 of each year. You can access the application here:
Students do not need to demonstrate financial hardship, and they do not need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students do not need to write long essays in order to be considered; a short statement responding to the essay question will suffice.
