The Post-Baccalaureate Licensure program in Secondary Education – English is for individuals seeking licensure in secondary education who have already received a B.A. in English. The program - which is 27 credit hours – may be completed in two semesters and a summer session. Students do need to complete EED 541 (Methods for Teaching Composition in Secondary Schools – 3 credits) before completing the program; the course is offered during the spring semester only.
Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 hours of their undergraduate coursework, or must take the GRE and receive a combined minimum score of 1000 on the Verbal and Quantitative sections of the exam). Applicants will also have their transcripts evaluated in the content area, and additional coursework may be required.
