In collaboration with High Plains Chautauqua and Colorado Humanities, scholars take the stage and breathe life into the words of historical figures through interpretive characterizations and offer a basis for lively discussion about the relevance of those people and their ideas to today's world. Now entering its ninth year, High Plains Chautauqua brings scholars who are professors, lecturers, history buffs, and extraordinary citizens from across America's Chautauqua circuit to Greeley. Continuing a theme on the paradoxes of the American identity, this year focuses on nineteenth-century reformers, utopians, restless spirits and dreamers. The program under the big tent is certain to entertain, educate and enlighten audiences of all ages.
