Teacher Quality

teacher retentionIn recent years researchers have confirmed that individual teachers have a tremendous effect on student outcomes. Questions arise, though, about ways to measure the amount of impact, strategies for improving teacher quality and the degree to which measured impact should affect teachers’ evaluation and pay. The policy brief below is the first in a series designed to explore specific teacher quality issues, describe relevant research and suggest recommendations for policy changes.
