Reading Center

A Resource for Students, Community and Region

The UNC Reading Center provides free reading tutoring to more than 60 children during the course of the year, with tutoring provided by UNC students who are taking EDRD 411. Tutoring is provided at both the UNC Reading Center on the 3rd floor of McKee Hall, and at Lago Vista Mobile Home Park.

In the Reading Center, you'll find tutoring stations as well as The Richard T. Opitz Memorial Library, a children’s literature library containing more than 5,000 children and young adult literature selections. The reading center and library are also used by reading faculty as a resource for undergraduate and graduate reading courses.
