Dr. Marston has over fourteen years experience in teaching economics and social sciences. She has taught a wide variety of courses including microeconomics, macroeconomics, labor, money and banking, managerial, and women in the economy and social sciences. Her educational background includes a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. and M.S. in economics from the University of Nevada, Reno. She earned her Ph.D. from Colorado State University.

Her research focuses on the effects of welfare reform on the economic well-being of children and families. Dr. Marston’s most recent research (co-authored with Dr. Laura Connolly) was entitled “Welfare Reform, Earnings, and Incomes: New Evidence from the Survey of Program Dynamics,” and was published in October of 2005 in the journal, Contemporary Economic Policy. This research was partially supported by a $30,000 grant from Northwestern University/University of Chicago Joint Center for Poverty Research.

Dr. Marston is the advisor for Golden Key International Honour Society and the Treasurer for the Board of Directors for the Women’s Resource Center, a nonprofit that increases access to health care for medically underserved women. She is married to Jonathan and together they are the proud parents of Espen and Ingrid.
