Dr. Marston is an associate professor with a joint appointment to the Social Science Program. She teaches Understanding the Contemporary Economy, Labor Economics, as well as Social Sciences for our elementary teacher candidates. She earned her Bachelor’s in Economics and Spanish from the University of Nevada, Reno where she also received her Masters Degree in Economics. Dr. Marston received her Ph.D. from Colorado State University.
Dr. Marston’s current research stems from her involvement with Realizing Our Community (ROC). ROC has been funded from 2008-2011 by a $300,000 grant from The Colorado Trust. She has been actively involved on ROC’s Board of Directors during this time period. ROC is focused on immigration and refugee integration in the receiving community. With a large Hispanic population and a recent significant arrival of refugees who are employed at the local meatpacking plant, this is very relevant and interesting research.
She has been married for over 15 years and she and her husband are the proud parents of Espen and Ingrid. All feel very fortunate to call beautiful Colorado their home.
