| Dr. Aske earned a B.S. degree in Economics and Political Science with an emphasis in international relations from Mankato State University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His areas of interest include economic education, economic history, and secondary social studies education. Dr. Aske holds a joint appointment in the Social Science program where he teaches Social Studies Methods of Inquiry and advises prospective secondary social studies teachers. He has received several teaching awards including the College of Arts and Sciences award for teaching excellence and UNC Mortar Board favorite professor. In addition to his life at UNC, Dr. Aske enjoys spending time with his family and golfing. He also serves as a Patient Representative at The Children's Hospital of Denver.
