IMPORTANT NOTES AND INFORMATION!!
· For economics majors who have asked for an upper division economics elective they can take during the summer, Dr. Aske will offer Econ 362, Economic History of the United States, during the first summer session (May 21-June 29).
· Students planning to GRADUATE in 2006-2007 need to have a graduation audit completed. Unofficial audits are available from URSA, but you must initiate a request for an OFFICIAL audit from the Grad Check office in Carter Hall.
· Currently, Econ 350 and Econ 475 are both offered ONLY in the spring.
· Econ 350 has the following prerequisites: Math 124, Math 176, Econ 303, and Econ 305.
· IMPORTANT! In-state students: You MUST APPLY for the "College Opportunity Fund" stipend. More information and a link to the application site can be found at: http://www.unco.edu/cof/index.shtml.
Effective in the 2006-2007 UNC Catalog, the Economics Program has made the following changes or clarifications:
Students must have senior status and achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.5 in all courses required for the major, or consent of the instructor, before they will be allowed to register for the economics capstone courses, Econ 452 and Econ 475.
All students must achieve an overall cumulative GPA of 2.25 in order to be admitted to the economics major. First-semester freshmen and transfer students will be admitted on a probational basis and must achieve an overall cumulative GPA of 2.25 after their first semester at UNC in order to continue in the major.
Economics majors must retake for a "C" or higher any course required
for the major in which they earn a "D" or below.
