Earth Day - April 22, 2008
Celebrate the unity of earth, spirit and our surrounding community with us at University of Northern Colorado's Earth Day event. The day long program will highlight the positive energy and endeavors of the University's faculty, administration and students as well as Weld County and surrounding area. Let's celebrate together this Earth Day and reflect on our everyday role in the world.
Activities and programs planned include:
- Morning Earth Meditation
- Faculty Presentations: "Exploring Earth and Community Connections" Teach-in
- Return to Wholeness Workshop by Keiko Krahnke
- Information Fair & Drawing for prizes
- Eco-Pledge Wall and Textbook Scholarship giveaway
- "Seeds of Change" display
- Earth & Spirit Poetry readings
- Tree Planting Ceremony
- Native American Art Show
- Native American drumming & dancing with Danza Azteca Tlalac
- West African Drumming performance
- Evening Keynote Speakers - Colorado's Poet Laureate Mary Crow and Pushcart Prize winning Poet Richard Tayson
