Accessible Transportation

Disability Support Services accessible bus service provides transportation between UNC's central and west campus for students with documented physical disabilities. When time allows, DSS will provide transportation between residences and campus for those students who have no other alternatives. Our priorities for scheduling rides are as follows:

  • First Priority -- between UNC's central and west campus
  • Second Priority -- between UNC's Student Family Apartments (SFA) and campus
  • Third Priority -- determined by proximity to campus, advance notice of request, and/or existing bus schedule

DSS will try to provide transportation at the requested times, however, other arrangements may need to be made with the Greeley City Transportation System. Scheduling demands will determine the number of daily rides available for each student. This may be limited to one round trip per day (not including night classes). In order to receive and maintain bus services, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Use available options before requesting service from DSS. City bus service is free for all UNC students. Check the fixed bus routes as well as the Paratransit service.
  • If the above options are not available, contact the DSS office with the transportation request.
  • Submit a semester schedule to DSS as early as possible. Priority will be given to the earliest requests; however, adjustments may need to be made to the schedule as students are added.
  • Changes to the bus schedule must be made through the DSS Office, not with the drivers. A 48-hour notice is requested to guarantee a ride change.
  • Cancellations require a two-hour notice. Messages may be left on the DSS answering machine, (970) 351-2289, before or December 6, 2006 provided for academic needs only.
  • Call the DSS Office for more details on how to obtain transportation services (970) 351-2289
