The University has a dedicated program called the Assault Survivors Advocacy Program (ASAP) that provides confidential support and advocacy services to those affected by sexual assault.  The University educates the student community about prevention, potential department responses, and victim assistance regarding sexual assault and relationship violence at New Student Orientation each summer and during the academic year through programs presented by ASAP and many other offices on campus, including: the Counseling Center, UNC Police Department, Housing and Residence Life, the Dean of Students Office, the Women’s Resource Center, the GLBTA Resource Center, the Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco Education (DATE) Program/Center for Peer Education (CPE), Wellness, Greek Life, and academic programs such as Women’s Studies, Criminal Justice, and Psychology.
