Student Response Team
The purpose of the Student Response Team is to proactively identify students of concern, to identify referral options for students, and to make recommendations for a course of action to the Assistant Dean of Students or other campus official as appropriate, toward the ultimate goal of student health, safety, success, and retention. The team also serves as a coordinating entity in responding to critical incidents that affect students and the campus community.
Members of the Student Response Team: Assistant Dean of Students (chair), Dean of Students Office Case Manager, UNCPD, Housing & Residence Life, Counseling Center, Assault Survivors Advocacy Program (ASAP) and other offices on an as needed basis.
If you are concerned about the health, well being, and safety of a student, please fill out a Student Health and Safety Referral Form:
Examples of why you may fill out the form are:
- pattern of bizarre behaviors or actions
- disruption to the classroom or living community
- harmful to themselves or others
- suicidal threats gestures or attempts (Contact UNCPD or counseling center immediately)
- alcohol problems
- eating concerns
- self-injurious behavior (e.g., cutting self)
- hospitalization for drug or alcohol use
- sudden rapid weight loss
- poor health due to restrictive eating
The reports will be reviewed by the Student Response Team in order to determine the best way to help this student.
