Dean’s List/Honor Roll

Students are honored for their outstanding academic achievements once a year at the end of the Spring Semester (Summer, Fall, and Spring).

  • List of Distinction: Students at the University who have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours and have achieved a 3.75 or above grade point average for any two terms of the year are named to the Dean's List of Academic Distinction and awarded a certificate acknowledging their outstanding scholarship. Students awarded to the UNC's Dean's List of Distinction will be nominated to the National Dean's List publication.
  • Honor Roll: Students at the University who have completed a minimum of 24 semester hours and have achieved a 3.50 to 3.74 grade point average for any two terms (Summer, Fall, and Spring) of the year are awarded a certificate acknowledging their outstanding scholarship.

Robert and Ludie Dickeson Presidential Prize for Leadership

The Robert and Ludie Dickeson Presidential Prize for Leadership acknowledges and rewards student leadership on the UNC campus. 

Two cash awards will be given to a male and female student during the Spring Commencement ceremony.  An award committee comprised of a representative from the faculty, staff and student body will select recipients.
                
To be eligible for the award, a student must be considered a leader by his or her peers, faculty and the administration; be a senior; have a minimum grade point average of 3.0; and be graduating in May or have graduated in December of the previous year.

Any member of the university community may submit nominations.

Nominations must be in the form of:

  • Two letters of nomination addressing the reasons the student is considered a leader. One letter must be from a faculty/staff member or group and the other from a student or student organization.
  • Nominee information sheet, completed by the nominee, can be found on the forms page.
