ASL 3 & 4: Online
ASL III & IV coursework online is offered through the UNC Extended Studies office. Students not seeking a degree, certificate or licensure can register for these courses on a space-available basis.
ASL 201 (ASL III): Continues to expand knowledge of experiences in American Sign Language and Deaf Culture; designed to emphasize ASL grammar and sentence structure and to develop communicative competence at an intermediate level.
ASL 202 (ASL IV): Emphasizes ASL vocabulary, grammatical structure to develop communicative competence at an intermediate level, promotes awareness of cultural behaviors, rules of discourse, and explores regional and dialectal variations in ASL.

- How to register if you are currently a UNC student
STEP 1. Go to https://wfrpt03.unco.edu/approot/unc/extended_studies_web_schedule.htm to look for your course and Course Reference Number (CRN) number. You will need the CRN number to register.
STEP 2. Go to your Ursa account to register for the course(s).
- How to register if you are not a UNC student
STEP 1. Submit the Student Information Form. You will receive an email response within 24 hours.
STEP 2. There will be directions in the e-mail for finding your Bear Number (UNC student ID number) and how to activate your Ursa (UNC student portal). You will use your Bear number to activate your Ursa account and to register for your course.
STEP 3. When you are ready to register for your course you will need to first go to go to https://wfrpt03.unco.edu/approot/unc/extended_studies_web_schedule.htm to look for your course and Course Reference Number (CRN) number. You will need the CRN number to register.
STEP 4. Go back to your Ursa account and follow the course registration instructions.
