PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS

Welcome to the UNC-DO IT Center!

The DO IT Center offers a four year Baccalaureate Degree in ASL-English Interpretation, along with professional certificate programs in interpreting specialties, such as Educational and Legal Interpreting. The courses are delivered online and longer programs include face-to-face summer sessions at UNC in Greeley, Colorado.

Our goal is to design and deliver quality instruction that prepares qualified interpreters.


OVERVIEW OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
DEGREE PROGRAM


This is offered as an 11-semester undergraduate degree program for first time freshmen. Transfer students are advised on placement in the 120 credit hour program following a transcript review and demonstration of ASL proficiency.

STUDENTS ACCEPTED INTO THE BA PROGRAM WILL BEGIN, ONSITE, IN COLORADO July 7 - 30, 2010

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS


This 4-semester program is designed for interpreters who wish to work in the legal system. The program is semester hours and offers RID CEUs.

This 4-semester online program is designed to prepare individuals for leadership and supervision roles in the field of ASL-English Interpretation. The program is a
4-semester, 12-credit hour series and offers RID CEUs.

FOR SPRING 2010

APPLICATION DEADLINE:
October 15, 2009


This 9-semester program for working educational interpreters who are sponsored by their respective
State Education Agencies, results in a 30 credit hour professional certificate of educational interpreting.

This 9-credit hour series is delivered over 3-semesters as an online program designed for interpreters who
strive to improve their ASL-English and English-ASL interpreting skills. RID CEUs are also offered.
