Baccaulareate Degree in ASL-English Interpretation

UNC students are required to complete 40 hours of general education, distributed among the following areas: Basic Core Courses (31 hrs); Multicultural and International Studies Course (0-6 hrs); Electives (3-9 hrs).

CAT 1 - Composition: (6 hours minimum)
a. ENG 122 (3) AND
b. Any catalog approved intermediate comp (3)

CAT 2 - Mathematics: (3 hours minimum)
Select 1 catalog approved course

CAT 3 - Arts and Humanities: (6-9 hours minimum)
Select 2-3 catalog approved courses from subgroups (a)-(c) drawing from at least 2 different subgroups:

a. Arts
b. Literature and humanities
c. Ways of thinking

CAT 4 - History: (3 hours)
Select 1 catalog approved course

CAT 5 - Social and Behavioral Sciences: (3-6 hours minimum)
Select 1-2 courses from subgroups (a)-(c), drawing from at least 2 different subgroups:

a. Economic and Political Systems
b. Geography
c. Human behavior and Social Systems

CAT 6 - Physical and Life Sciences: (7 hours minimum)
Select 2 course with different prefixes; at least one must be a laboratory course.

CAT 7 - International Studies: (0-3 hours minimum)
Select catalog approved course.

CAT 8 - Multicultural Studies: (0-3 hours minimum)
Select one catalog approved course.

Electives:
Select enough additional courses from Areas 3-8 above to bring the total number of Core Studies hours up to the minimum of 40 semester hours.
