Academic Support and Advising

Information About Orientation

We will open reservations for Fall, 2009 sessions sometime between October 08 and February 09. Please check back in October for more information.

Dates and Sessions

Students attend the orientation session for the college that hosts their major.  For example, students with a major in Biology would attend the session for the College of Natural & Health Sciences.  See the complete list of colleges and their majors.

Students declared Pre-Business and Undeclared - Seeking Business should attend sessions for undeclared students.

UNC manages the enrollment in freshmen level courses throughout the summer.  No particular orientation session has a registration advantage over any other. Each session is allotted spaces for fall semester classes.

We offer the following sessions for students and guests:

Staying Overnight

We guarantee overnight accommodations in our residence halls for all new students; we accommodate family and guests on a first-come, first-serve basis for an additional fee of $22 each.

Students will stay in Wiebking Hall and family and guests will stay in Wilson Hall (these residence halls are adjacent to one another).  Both halls are air-conditioned and provide community-style bathrooms for participants, meaning that showering facilities are centrally located on each floor.  Linens are provided; we recommend bringing a pillow, toiletries, and shower shoes.
