Students Living On Campus

Residence Hall Meal Plan Requirements

One of the benefits of living on campus is having your meals taken care of!! All students who choose to live in a residence hall are required to carry a Traditional Meal Plan throughout the academic year, per their Housing & Dining contract.

More Options for Freshmen

Freshmen can now choose from 3 different meal plans. Our lowest priced Freshman meal plan option (the 19 Meal Plan + 75 Dining Dollars) will automatically be assigned to all students living in the residence halls unless a different one is chosen before August 1st. Check out your Traditional Meal Plan options here! Remember, you can always add Guest Meal Passes and Dining Dollars to your UNC Card!

Choose Your Meal Plan

Students living on campus will choose their meal plan option when they sign up for their housing online. Not sure what you signed up for? Go back into the online Housing & Dining contract and "edit your preferences."

Not a Freshman? Those students living in the residence halls who are at least 20 years old or who have 20 earned credits are eligible to switch to one of the upperclassman options. All meal plan changes must be done by the contract owner by the University published Drop Deadline (10th day of class). Please remember that all meal plans are good for one semester only.

Deadlines to Remember

The deadline to change/cancel your meal contract (includes traditional meal plans, bear plans, and dining dollars) is 5pm on the University published add/drop deadline:

  • Fall 2013: Monday, September 9th
  • Spring 2014: Monday, January 27th

Guest Meal Prices

Have a visitor who wants to eat in the dining rooms with you?  Add Guest Meal Passes to your meal plan. They can also pay cash prices at the door any time.
