Chef Essig wins Professionalism Award
UNC's very own Executive Chef Aran Essig was presented the American Culinary Federation’s Western Region Chef Professionalism award at the federation’s regional conference held February 6-8, 2010. The award is presented annually to the culinarian who exemplifies the highest standards of professionalism through certification, continuing education and training, culinary competitions and community involvement. Chef Essig is now eligible to receive the national 2010 Chef Professionalism award that will be presented at ACF’s national convention in August. Read the ACF press release about Chef Essig here.
Team UNC Catering raises money for the 2009 Relay For Life
For the third year in a row, a group of employees from UNC Dining Services formed “Team UNC Catering” to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.
