Claim Your Space Kick-Off Dinner
So What Is Claim Your Space... And Why Is There A Special Dinner?
Each year, thousands of UNC students live on campus in one of our residence halls. Beginning in February, current students have the opportunity to sign up to live on campus again next year. This two-week period is called Claim Your Space - mainly because they're allowed to keep their same room - or choose another - before incoming Freshman have a chance to pick their rooms.
Students who currently live on campus know there are many benefits to being a part of the UNC campus community. We hope students want to return next year and share that same sense of community with us. Living on campus can be fun, exciting, and full of memories just waiting to be made. Dining Services has always been a big piece of the "on campus living experience" here at UNC, so when given the opportunity to have a special dinner for our students, we were all for it!
Can Faculty and Staff Attend This Special Dinner?
Absolutely! Students, Faculty, Staff, Cousins, Brothers, Grandparents... we are inviting EVERYONE to join us for Dinner on Wednesday, February 1st at Holmes Dining Hall or Tobey-Kendel Dining Room. It doesn't matter if you live on campus or not, we just want you to have a good time.
But just like living on campus, the menu for this dinner is fun. Student will be able to enjoy items like St. Louis Baby Back Ribs, Foot Long Corn Dogs & Hot Dogs, Chinese Dim Sum, Spicy Baked Salmon, Funnel Cakes, and Churros. Click here to see the poster and full menu.
These may seem like the types of foods you would find at a carnival, festival, or a sporting event... but that's the point. We want students to know that there are many opportunities to have fun, live, and learn while being a part of the UNC community. These menu items have also been identified by students as some of their favorites... and we are always happy to provide items that are highly enjoyed. We strive to make students' dining and living experience on campus the best it can be!
