Welcome to UNC Dining Services... where "We Feed The Bears!"
We are a full-service dining operation for the entire campus community, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and guests of the university. Students (of course) are our primary focus, but we are continually striving to offer new and enticing menu items for all our valued customers. We offer the full dining room experience at three locations on campus: Holmes Dining Hall, Tobey-Kendel Dining Room, the UC Food Court, and Bears Bistro. Want to know what is being served in the dining rooms?
- Daily Menus: call the FoodLine at (970) 351-FOOD (3663)
- Weekly Menus: check the menus on the VOIP phone in your residence hall, or visit us online
Dining Services also offers several Retail Dining options at the University Center where students can use their Dining Dollars. August 2011 was a great month... Munchy Mart at the University Center opened for business. Students don't have to go off campus to get their convenience items now! Einstein Bros® Bagels, Starbucks®, Subway®, and Taco Bell® Express provide students with an alternative to dining room fare, while Bears Bistro allows students to use either their meal plan or Dining Dollars. These Retail Dining locations, along with our UNC Catering department, allow a variety of meal options for all students and visitors to UNC at affordable prices (click here for the UNC Catering Web Site).
Not at the University Center but craving coffee? If you are near the Michener Library, Kepner Hall, or Turner Hall, you're in luck!! Coffee Corner at Michener is a student favorite for a study break, Coffee Corner at Kepner keeps students going during the lunch breaks, and Coffee Corner at Turner is quickly becoming a student favorite!
Dining Services also serves as one of the largest student employers on campus, hiring over 400 students throughout the entire year to work in the various dining areas. The pay is competitive, and managers schedule work around school schedules. Advancement can be quick for energetic and dedicated workers. It is my hope that when considering a part-time job to help defray those college expenses, students consider Dining Services as a viable alternative (click here for an application).
Dining Services has a Registered Dietitian on staff who can give guidance on eating disorders, food allergies, dietary restrictions, and nutritional updates for a healthy body. Some students place eating healthy, well-balanced meals "on the back burner" during the college years, and we're here to help keep students on the right nutritional track.
Feel free to drop by our main office in Tobey-Kendel Hall to introduce yourself and learn more about what is always a favorite topic - FOOD!
