Dining Services ~ A Guide To Student Employment
- If you do not have a meal plan, $2.75 will be deducted from your paycheck on a monthly basis for each meal you eat prior to working a scheduled shift.
- Meals eaten when you are not working will be full price for the meal and are not able to be deducted from your paycheck.
- Meal deductions are for when you are working only, and on the day that you work. There are no exceptions to this rule.
- If you do have a meal plan, it is required that you bring your Student ID card to work with you so that you may swipe it at the check stand prior to the start of your shift. If you forget your card, a meal deduction will be taken for each meal you don't have your card for. Failure to pay for your meal via meal plan or meal deductions may be grounds for termination.
New policy regarding Meal Deductions
All Student Employees with a Full Meal Plan (Freshmen) must swipe their card for every meal they eat during a working shift and do not qualify for Employee Meal Deduction Benefit. Student Employees who have purchased the optional Bear Meal Plan from Dining Services have the choice of either swiping their student I.D. card or using the Employee Meal Deduction Benefit. The Employee Meal Deduction option is only available during a working shift. The student employee must inform the student supervisor or manager on duty if they are choosing to use the Employee Meal Deduction.
