Preceptor ManualThe documents and forms included with this manual are intended to facilitate your work with the dietetic intern as he or she works through the practicum experiences. They have been saved as Acrobat PDF and Microsoft Word files and may be saved and filled out on your computer and then printed for mailing or faxing. You may also fill them out by hand. suggestions, or problems you may have. It is our intention to make this
experience for you a dynamic one so that you may experience the benefits
of mentoring a beginning professional in our field. *A Verification of Review must be submitted to the program director after reading this manual. Part I: Introduction and Guidelines - This section contains an introduction to the program and important guidelines for you. Part II: Reports and Rotation Evaluations Word Files: PDF Files: We need to document to the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education
(CADE) that the intern has completed the required number of hours and
rotations during the internship. There are master copies of the evaluation
forms used in the intern's manual as well. Part III: Assignment Evaluations - These are your guidelines for assignments that enable the intern to obtain the skills necessary for entry-level dietetics employment. Assignment Cover Sheet Part IV: Workman's Compensation - The policies concerning workman's compensation insurance and what to do should an intern be injured on the job. Part V: ADA Competencies and Assignments - The rotation evaluations reference these competencies set by the American Dietetic Association. Part VI:
Intern Professional Conduct Guidelines - The intern's failure to follow
these guidelines could result in termination from the program.
