On being a Bear

Lyndsey joined the team in September 2014 and has more than a decade of experience in university advancement. But years before she assumed her current role, Lyndsey first fell in love with UNC as a high school sophomore from Mililani, HI. After meeting a UNC admissions counselor, Lyndsey set her sights on Greeley and made plans to become a Bear. With support from the Western Undergraduate Exchange program and UNC scholarships, Lyndsey moved more than 3,000 miles from home to begin her freshman year as a UNC political science major. It has been hard to keep her away every since.

As UNC's assistance vice president for alumni relations, Lyndsey's goal is to ensure that the 130,000+ living UNC alumni remain actively engaged in the life of their university and invested in the education of generations to come. Foremost, Lyndsey is a point of contact for UNC's alumni, answering questions and addressing concerns and ideas; additionally, she directs the university's alumni communication strategy, serving as co-editor of the UNC Magazine; manages the alumni association, including directing the alumni office and advisory alumni board of directors; and works with campus partners to ensure alumni involvement is meaningfully connected to the university priorities of philanthropy, enrollment and student success. You can follow Lyndsey around campus on Twitter @LyndseyCrum and build your Bear Network when you connect with her on LinkedIn.

I am a proud alumna and UNC will always hold a special place in my heart. As a first generation student and scholarship recipient, UNC provided me access to an incredible education. It is my privilege to pay that forward with my involvment as a donor, volunteer and staff member.

Once a Bear, Always a Bear!
