When you’re excited about the difference you can make at UNC, you tend to dive in head first. That’s Jeff and the UNC donors he works with. Like our donors, you’ll likely see Jeff at one of UNC’s many campus events – from arts and athletics to an alumni or donor event – because being a part of a strong community is what drew Jeff to UNC.
Jeff joined the UNC’s advancement team in early 2018, bringing with him a background in higher education and corporate communication. Originally from Montana, Jeff sought a professional opportunity where he could be a part of a strong team and engaging culture. We’re glad that he found that at UNC because it's his job to help donors find the same.
As donor relations coordinator, Jeff is responsible for engaging UNC’s donor community, sharing the impact of their philanthropy, expressing gratitude, ensuring donor gifts are used as intended, and creating meaningful engagement opportunities unique to UNC. It's rewarding work, because Jeff knows that donor support gives students the opportunity to reach their goals and dreams.
It is very rewarding to see and hear the reaction of students and families we impact - especially when it is a first generation college student who did not think college was even possible!
So if you're thinking about getting involved in UNC, but are hesitant in your first gift - I recommend starting small. At times people get overwhelmed thinking that they need to give thousands of dollars just to make a difference. That is certainly not the case.
