DDP Application Process

Prior to registering for any courses in the Distance Dietetic Program you must have completed the following six prerequisites for program entry or their equivalents:

  • BIO 110 Principles of Biology (an equivalent course must have a lab included)
  • CHEM 111 Principles of Chemistry (an equivalent course must have a lab included)
  • PSY 120 Principles of Psychology (an equivalent course must be a general psychology course)
  • FND 250 Principles of Nutrition (an equivalent course must be a general, basic nutrition course)
  • BAMG 350 Management of Organizations (an equivalent course must be an upper level management course from a 4-year institution)
  • ANT 100 (an equivalent course must be a basic cultural anthropology course) OR COMM 223 (an equivalent course must be an intercultural communication course)

To apply to the Distance Dietetic Program:

  1. Complete the DDP Application Form, print out and send with your official transcripts to
    • Amy Baird, University of Northern Colorado,
    • Distance Dietetic Program,
    • Gunter 2280 – Campus Box 93,
    • Greeley, CO 80639.
    Transcripts must arrive together with the application form: order them, have them sent to you, keep them sealed and send them all together.
  2. Transcripts are pre-screened by an advisor. You will receive an email communication regarding the status of courses completed toward the dietetics curriculum. This will be your advisor for course transfer questions.
  3. After Steps 1 and 2, if you plan to pursue this program, apply to UNC, and email Amy Baird a confirmation that you have applied. She will forward any official transcripts to Admissions. Once you are fully admitted to UNC, you will send all future official transcripts to Admissions for updating.
