FAQs

  • What is crowdfunding?

It is the practice of funding a project or campaign by soliciting support from a large number of people, typically through internet-based mediums. Some popular crowdfunding platforms are GoFundMe, Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

UNC students, faculty and staff can easily share their project goals with potential supporters to build awareness and support of their project through the clear and engage in the platform. The power of social media and other digital communication mediums allows the campaign message to reach more potential supporters than traditional fundraising measures.
